This month we recognize National Kidney Month and will focus on managing Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
Aggressively managing CKD to prevent and delay progression to worsening stages, is now clearly a best and very important clinical practice. Adequate screening and annual assessment requires urinary micro-albumin measurement and estimated glomerular filtration calculation (usually from a BMP/CMP).
