- Training the middle-level staff. Providing my MA with the check list of preventive medicine measures which she utilizes during the t triage. It helps facilitate the annual visits.

Dr. Gabriel Gustin is a compassionate internist who provides medical care to a culturally diverse group of patients in Jackson Heights, New York and its surrounding communities. His primary goal as a practitioner is to ensure that he improves the health of his community through public service by applying an honest approach to genuine and dedicated care. He provides a full range of quality services with a commitment to high standards of performance. He is approachable, considerate, and treats his patients with respect.
Dr. Gustin and his staff work tirelessly to deliver excellent care providing their time, attention, and expertise in helping patients achieve their wellness goals that include preventive care services. Reminder letters and/or telephone calls are part of the office routine in making sure that every patient comes for preventive care visits that consist of regular check-ups, patient counseling, and screenings to prevent illness, disease and other health-related problems. The patients recognize and appreciate these extra steps in addressing their individual health needs and their families.

To ensure patients are up to date we keep the list of patients who missed appointments and follow up until they scheduled again. Every day before next day we confirm patients, call them to remind about upcoming appointment and ask if they are going to come. At that time we may also reschedule patients if they are not going to come. It is ongoing, people who did not confirm may come and who confirm may miss, but we follow with anyone who did not come that day until rescheduled.
We space out patients so they do not take each other time and accommodate unscheduled emergency visits based on severity.
We trying our best. Many parents working and can come only after 5PM or Saturday so it is more waiting time on those days as emergency also happen as they take kids to playground and they get trauma or other issues.

Office-wide protocols is where it begins at Q-Care Affordable Medical Care
- Patients sign a release of records at their initial and annual visits.
- Medical assistants are taught the QI measures that are required and their respective intervals – mammogram, colonoscopy, eye examinations, immunizations/vaccines, cervical cancer screening…
- A nonclinical staff is assigned to check our QI dashboard weekly - upload missing care gaps or, note in the medical record a reminder of a missing care gap for the next clinical encounter or, contact and coordinate with the patient closure of a care gap without a clinical encounter (i.e. refer for mammogram).
